HAPPY BIRTHDAY
Once I worked as a DJ on Lucerne radio "Pilatus". There were always many greetings on birthdays and I always had to play "Happy Birthday" by Steavy Wander. And then I thought there would be a time to compose the second song for such occasions.
LOVE OF MY LIFE
I composed this song for Nancy. We found in each other a lot of happiness. Its so wonderful and I try to express it in my music.
PRAY
The title is not so correct actually, because this song isn't only about "pray". Actually the song had to be called " We can make it a better place, when we pray for freedom". The song tells about the admission and understanding of various religions, colors of skin and ways of thinking. To speak exactly, we are all racists, 'cause we all have some biases!
THIS WORLD IS MAGIC
The song is reverence of the world; it also could be called This Life Is Magic. The whole world is magic to me. The existence in it is inexplicable. That short time, which we spend on earth, is the big gift, and it should be appreciated.
LET THE PARTY BEGIN
I knew this would be a smash hit. This is my favorite song on the album 'cause it spreads the joy of life. I have listened to the demo in the car all summer long. As soon as the sun hit the clear sky I had to listen to that song. I hope you feel the same way

WHAT A FEELING
In May we had a survey on our homepage www.djbobo.ch, we started with the question "Which of the 15 smash hits should DJ BoBo have on his new album?" "Flashdance" "What A Feeling", the original by Irene Cara got by far the most votes. Right there I realized that I had to get in touch with Irene to record with her what had been my favorite song while growing up. It happened on July 26, 2000: In Hamburg, Irene and I recorded the latest version of that song with great enthusiasm.
HARD TO SAY I'M SORRY
The title alone reveals lots of the content: How hard it sometimes is to say, "I'm Sorry!", if one has done wrong in a relationship. Sometimes senseless arguments just happen. "I'm Sorry" would have been enough to rid the world of all sorrows.
MAN IN THE MIRROR
The thin ice on which the stars walk often cracks. I would call this "bizarre fame". It is Monday, October 30: It s stormy and raining outside, and we decide to support the text of the song with a dramatic instrumentation.
COLORS OF LIFE
This is the first song, which was composed for the "Planet Colors" album The idea came up in the following way. The song represents my attitude towards life, because sometimes even an optimist like me needs something that helps him understand "how easy life can be". When I try to get a grip on life, surrounded by my own doubts, the song and its message suddenly become very important.
MOSCOW
Axel called me one night during our composition time in spring. Very enthusiastically he told me that he had written a song with the extraordinary title "Moscow". He imagined this song working with a strong male-voice choir in the background. I had to get used to this idea, because I had never tried anything like that before. But after being a little bit skeptic in the beginning I was inspired by this idea.
SAY IT AGAIN
This song was last written for "Planet Colors". It describes the beautiful feelings, which are barely spoken out in relationships. I changed the text shortly after finishing the production and I replaced my parts of the song with newly written raps verses.
"Say It Again" was finished on November 26, 2000 at 7 pm.
TOP OF THE WORLD
Often I am asked in interviews: "What would you change if you could be the king of the world for one day?" And I feel that my answers like "All races should accept each other" or "All people should be equal" are quite superficial. In sung form on the other hand all my pious dreams of a better world compensate themselves correctly because the gospel vocals give the text an additional power. DJ BoBo goes gospel.
WAY TO YOUR HEART
The melody for the refrain was written for the album "World In Motion", but it has never been released under the name DJ BoBo. I recorded "Way To Your Heart" for the album "Planet Colors" as a duet with artists from different countries. People can hear this song in their native language, e g. on the Russian album in the Russian language.
TELL ME WHY
We had difficulties with the treble of the refrain. It was too deep for a female voice and an octave higher it would have lost its feelings. This song is about the despair you feel when your partner ignores you. How close together love & pain are. A very melancholic song that leaves me completely quiet and thoughtful.
DREAMING OF YOU
This is a Pop song that's fun! On November 27, 2000 in the middle of the night at 0:40 am, the idea for "Dreaming Of You" arose. The first idea for the lyrics was the final one. This doesn't happen very often.
TIME TO TURN OFF THE LIGHT
It has never been easier for me to write lyrics about "The last song. Thanks to the fans." I imagined to be on the stage of our show and I wrote everything down that popped into my mind. It's all about the emotions, which capture us on the stage, which we try to give back to the audience with more intensity!
CHIHUAHUA
I got an order from the "Coca-Cola" Company in Spain for the advertising announcement with Rastaman who always says "Chihuahua".
DO YOU REMEMBER
First I always laughed when I heard something like this. It was so insipid and romantic. Suddenly I had a desire to make something similar. First I thought I wouldn't be able to. Then I played it for Nancy. She liked it. One of the lines says "Welcome to this world my son so if Jamiro wouldnt have been a boy, I would have had to go back to the studio to record this line again.
PIRATES OF DANCE
Before we started to create this song its title had already taken as the base of the album and tour 2005.
On February, 11 2004 Syndicate Music sent me a first instrumental demo version for discussion. In a some time Axel has joined to the work and the base for title song was created. When I heard a demo version I understood this groove is what we really need for the pirates theme. Our aim was to get back to our new song uncompromised energy and power.
For the first time after 9 albums the title composition (single) and the album had the same name, but there was no doubt that it's right decision.
We are back after our pause only with this song and its energetical pressure.
AMAZING LIFE
The making of this composition was quite unusual. Two absolutely different refrains were created and we couldn't decide which one to choose. The second refrain we hear at the end of the song.
With this lyrics I wanted to express how beautiful our world and our life are.
PURA PASION
This mystic phrase accompanies me since 1997. Before the video shootings of "It's My Life" video clip we arrived to a little island near Venezuela. There wasn't no hotels and restaurants. So we lived and ate in inhabitants' places. One old woman calling all the crew for the dinner at midday always screamed: "Pura Pasion!". This phrase followed everyone during video shootings. Everything was - Pura Pasion, pure fun!!!
DANCE INTO THE LIGHT
Everything began 3.10.2003. This track was first which we composed for the album. Firstly the track had a unstable rhythm which either was heard on the top or disappeared after the vocal. But such version seemed simple and wasn't interesting. So we wished to create strong leading part that's why ultimate version has not so many instrumentals which had to come to refrain step by step.
The idea of using a guitars in the second half of the track isn't usual for such a style, but for me it became a top point in the song.
NO MATTER WHAT PEOPLE SAY
The composition is based on tour 2003 when I took part in "Meet & Greet" program visited an ill girl. I made a huge joy for her but for myself this meeting was very special event. Joy and naturalness of this sick child impressed me very much. Such meetings make my life very important. Geraldine died soon after the meeting. I had known about that after the song has already done.
"No Matter What People Say" is devoted for all who supports ill people.
GIVE PEACE A CHANCE
Peace, freedom, tolerance have always been special things in our hearts. That's why in my 10th album I devoted a song to these values. Everyday people from different places of our world send me messages about those hard times and this sense of helplessness stays deep inside of me for a long time.
HEY NANANA
It was always necessary for me to have a joke song on a album. Hey Nanana is one of them.
In the lyrics I revise my young times when I tried to show my best for girls dancing break-dance on discotheques. The song describes a typical behavior of teenager going through his pubescence. First it's a behavior of playboy and then when everything is fine a little talk with a girl. About what? About blablabla.
ONE NIGHT IN HEAVEN
When the time comes I will get back to eurodance once again. I improved my style but until now this music is the part of my life. The rate, rhythm and bass are mixed with simple melodies here in this song.
"One Night In Heaven" says that eurodance is not just a word for me.
GARUNGA
Till this time there were no compositions which developed my imagination.
The lyrics talk about the bewitched ship which can't arrive to its final destination. And the music do underlines this efforts. Try to close your eyes and enjoy the impressive world of ghost ship and its endless way to the secret island Garunga.
I NEED YOUR LOVE
It's a story of relationships! He lied to her and now he's so sorry. The lyrics were written a long time ago. It's that rare case when the text appeared before the instrumental version. Usually first we compose a musical theme and then a melody for a vocal. Then a pseudo-text appears on the first listening which some time later forms the base for a real lyrics.
1000 MILES
This song was born in my dreams when I was in my hotel room somewhere in Scandinavia. In such a way I could describe my inner feelings being alone. In such moment you always think about your family and can't wait to see and hug them all. It's a way 1000 miles long.
