How I became DJ BoBo's fan. Fans stories
Ukraine. I became BoBos fan in summer
1996. I even can name the date 29th of June. At this time BoBo came to
Kiev for celebrating the Youth Day. I wasnt present on that concert,
but my father recorded it on the video tape with my favorite movie. And
when I watched it again I found the record of this concert. I liked the
song "Everybody" and since that moment I have never been separated with
his music!!! Germany. I became BoBo-Fan in 1994, in autumn. I watched on TV video clip "Love Is All Around". I liked this song much and the way they danced. On Christmas my parents bought me his CD "Just For You" and since that I started buying his CDs and everything else. Ukraine. I saw BoBo for the first time on MTV channel in 1993. It was the video clip "Keep On Dancing". Then I danced on the discos, where his hits were played, but I havent been his fan yet on all 100%... In autumn 1994 I saw on MTV channel the advertisement of either his album or single there "Let The Dream Come True" played and episodes from the video were shown!!! Ive lost my mind. In January 1995 I bought the audio tape with "There Is A Party" album (there were only 45 minutes recorded, but what 45 minutes!!!) Since that time DJ BoBos music guides me through my life! Russia. I heard BoBo for the first time on "Mayak Radio"! Every day there was played something like a mix where "Somebody Dance With Me" was. I looked through my CDs and found on Dutch Top 40 this song. Immediately I purchased "Dance With Me" album and the story began. In was 1993. Spring. Now I have absolutely all his official releases (video, CD, singles, albums, compilations) and a lot of bonuses. Switzerland. Everything has begun in 1994. I was in a Swiss Red Cross Camp, and I heard the song "Everybody" there. It was great! I felt something special during this song. After this I heard more songs from BoBo, and in 1995 I got the album "There is A Party". This album moved me like magic!!! From that time, I started to collect everything about him, and I followed the news about him. In 2003, my deepest dream came true! I met with BoBo! He was very nice and friendly. Ill never forget this day till the end of my life!!! I can thank for him my joy, and humor in my sad moments. Thank you, BoBo! Rainbow shines forever and ever! Keep on singing, as long, as possible, because we need you!!! Russia. I saw BoBo for the first time on TV in the end of 1995. It was the video clip "Let The Dream Come True". After that I took some of my friends compilations where the majority of eurodance groups were recorded. So and BoBo, of course. I listened to it and liked it very much. At the beginning of 1996 I purchased "Just For You" album. Then I found "Dance With Me" and "There Is A Party". So the story has begun Russia. It was 1994, to be exact the middle of 1994. My friend told me about BoBo all the time. He said BoBo has a clear diction, excellent rap which easy to remember. At his place I listened to several of his songs. And his elder sister was crazy about the song "Everybody". So I started listening to BoBos music. We went to downtown to find audio tapes with his music so we found them It was Sony cassette. On its "A" side there was 1993, on its B side was 1994. My friend listened to this audio tape every day and night. In 1995 I went on handball competition to Nigniy Novgorod. There I bought audio tape Sony with BoBo 1995 and Masterboy 1995 and the story has begun Russia. BoBo has been guiding me through my life for 11 years already! I always new that everything happens not just like that, everything leaves a trace on the future and present thats why the "meeting" with Him I will never forget! I remember I studied at 8th grade, it was March, 1993. Our boys arranged for us girls a discotheque devoted to our spring celebration. I remember I brought a lot of audio tapes with records of Michael Jackson, London Beat, Sandra and Sabrina. And suddenly something unbelievable happened. My classmate ignored all my cassettes and started to play his own. We heard this paradise voice and then BoBos rap. My classmate stepped on the middle of the dancefloor and started dancing hip-hop. It was amazing Then he was given a title of "disco dancer" and "Somebody Dance With Me" became my favorite song!!! Kazakhstan. I heard BoBo for the first time in the end of 1994. His songs were always played on discotheques. Actually BoBo was the second foreign star whom I listened to (Dr. Alban was the first). I was only 12 and I didnt make any difference between musical styles. I had "Dance With Me" album but I absolutely didnt know that his album was BoBos one. My brother told me all these songs are Haddaways. Just imagine till 1996 I thought that BoBo is Haddaway and I admired his creativity like crazy. The deal is I grew up in a little village and there was no information about it. Track lists were absolutely absent. In spring (April) 1996 I bought compilation called "Dance Mission 4". There was the song "Feel The Heat". Firstly I didnt pay attention on track list. The song is playing Im going crazy wow, Haddaway! Then I thought what was this songs name and looked at track list. And there was no Haddaway, there was DJ BoBo. I didnt want to believe. Maybe this audio tape was pirate one?! Then I bought another compilation called "Fire Dance 14". There was "DJ BoBo Megamix". I heard so native voice of my favorite artist whom I considered Haddaway. So I made sure that since 1994 I listened to BoBo but not Haddaway and started collecting all his releases. In the end of 1996 all evening long I listened to "World In Motion" and "There Is A Party". Then I went to bed. In the morning I woke up as DJ BoBos fan. Russia. In 1994-1995 I lived in Morocco (its on the North of Africa) in the town called Tanger. Its extreme north on Gibraltar Gulf. There are Atlantic Ocean in the left and Mediterranean Sea in the right. When the weather was fine you could see Spain, its only half an hour way to go by the ship there. So I could listen to Spanish radio. I found there a program at 16:00. It lasted only an hour and there were played such artists as E-Type, Ice MC, Masterboy and DJ BoBo of course. In half of a year I bought two audio tapes 2 Unlimited "Hits Unlimited" (at that time it was my favorite group) and DJ BoBo "There Is A Party". All this was recorded on 45 minute cassettes; the half of the songs was cut. But anyway! I took my neighbors tape recorder and started listening to these cassettes. After Id listened to them once I understood I dont want to listen to 2 Unlimited again. But DJ BoBo I listened to him again. And again. And again. And again In a nutshell I came back home as DJ BoBos fan. Russia. I guess I would never know BoBo if I didnt listen to one of Russian radios. There was an evening program called "Camel Rhythm" directly from the West. At that time I was a big fan of progressive music and I never missed this program. It was in the air once a week. I even won there a sports bag, radio and T-shirt. I always recorded this program on the audio tape, so my tape recorder was always ready. In such a way I recorded the song "Respect Yourself". I guess it was 1996 when there was no good music in our musical shops. I was lucky to buy the CD only in 2002 ("Celebration"). There was no disappointment at all. I was in a very jolly mood, because at last my dream came true. Germany. I became DJ BoBos fan because my parents gave me his CD to my birthday. And I liked this artist and I bought more CDs!!! Russia. I heard DJ BoBo for the first time in 2002. To say honestly I didnt feel a lot of emotions. But after I listened to the song "I Believe" I got interested in his music and then became one of his fans. Russia. In 1993 I the 13-year-old boy bought in a commercial store the audio tape with black-and-white cover where printed long waited words were Ace Of Base 93. And here it is the music of the super popular group! And Im holding it in my own hands! A little bit lower there was another artist unknown for me DJ BoBo 93. And nothing else, no album title, no track list. I came home, switched on the tape recorder, listened to the song "Happy Nation" and replaced the audio tape on its B-side Theres nothing to explain more. I tell only one thing: I stopped listening to other artist anymore. Now I had an idol! Kazakhstan. I heard DJ BoBo for the first time on the compilation which my friend brought to me. It was at the beginning of 1995, when I was 14. I liked the songs "Somebody Dance With Me" and "Freedom". We listened to his songs just like that, they were played on discotheques, everybody liked them. Different songs were presented on different compilations. When BoBo was announced, everybody was very happy and danced like crazy At the beginning of 1996 I bought illegal album "Just For You" which contained tracks from single and album "There Is A Party". After that I became one of DJ BoBos fans! Ukraine. On some TV-channel there was a program called "Hit-Rik". There for the first time I saw the video clip "Take Control". I was so exited with his music style and asked my friends to help me to get his album. At that time I always trapped on clips. One artist release a hit, shot video clip, but the rest of the album is crap. So I wanted to know if BoBo belongs to these artists. One day I was brought a cassette with yellow cover. There was a title - "Dance With Me". When I had listened to it I understood this is what I need. Ukraine. We listened to BoBo's songs since 1993. But only in summer 1994 we became his real fans (at that very moment when BoBo as the biggest football fan, and we were looking forward a World Football Championship in USA). When we hears the song "Deep In The Jungle" we liked it so much because it hooked by its rhythm and energy! After that we got interested in his creativity and couldn't wait his new albums. Singapore. It all began when I heard a short clip of "What A Feeling" on the television, lasting not more than 5 seconds. It was a television commercial advertisement for a dance album. I took note of the singer of that song - DJ BoBo. What a name! I thought to myself as I giggled at the name DJ BoBo. I went to a website on the internet that allows viewers to watch videos, with the intention to search for that particular song, as I was looking for new songs to listen to. I typed in the word "DJ BoBo" in the search box and was surprised upon seeing the long list of results. So DJ BoBo was the singer of the hit "Chihuahua" and "Celebration"! I began to watch each and every DJ BoBo music video clip that was available at that website. There was something special about them. Something about the music, something about the video, something that was very unique and different from the songs by other artists. Spain. I found out about BoBo in 1994 when "There Is A Party" was just came out. I that time I remember I was in Ecuador. I listened on the radio a song that was very great and wonderful. It was "Everybody". Then I got interested in this performer and started to search information about him. And I found out that he had another album called "Dance With Me". But this album wasn't available in Ecuador. And for that moment I had only "There Is Party". |
