What thing connects you with your motherland?
I was born and grew up in canton Lucerne. I love landscapes, mountains. I love this country.

What do you appreciate in Switzerland most of all?
Just like that? This is my motherland, I always come back here. This is the country where three cultures stick together. We speak three languages: German, English and French.

What is your the most wonderful memory about Switzerland?
Oh, there are a lot of them. These are landscapes, mountains and even the air. Some people say time goes slower in Switzerland. Probably, it does.

Are you patriot?
Of course, I am. If the national anthem is playing during the Swiss football match, I stand up and cry. But I do it only at the football. I'm a football fan. If the national team plays in Switzerland, I'm always at the game. I stand and scream. But I don't do it when I'm abroad, because I don't have any time for that. But I'd like do it with a big pleasure.

Do you ski as the Swiss?
Of course, I do. I can ski. When I was 3 I've already stood at these boards, and I still do. I love snowboarding as well.

You're often abroad. Is this an advantage being the Swiss?
We're happy. We have a very good international respect because of neutrality. This thing is an advantage in any case. If I'm in Croatia or in Paraguay or somewhere else and I show them my Swiss passport, I'm not dangerous for them.

Can the workaholic relax?
Of course, I can. Everything's wonderful at home. It's like an oasis, a small island for me.

Did you feel the danger while skiing?
Of course, I did. If you jump you feel inch in your stomach. The same thing happens when you're flying and don't see what will occur. But you jump only when it's fresh and mild. Then you can land softly. On other cases only tourists make it.

Your lifestyle: no smoking, no alcohol!
I'm a real "Normalo". It's connected with the fact I'm the Swiss. Even if I'm not at the stage I must be in an excellent fit whatever I do.

Do you see yourself as a star?
You can't think you are something special only because you make music.

Do you compose your music?
I compose 80%. The co-composer makes the rest. "Love Is The Price" was the first song, which I didn't compose. I accepted it from other composer.

What is your the deepest love except Nancy?
My music. Music is my love and passion.

Do you have any problems with your stage pseudonym in Spain and Japan?
In Spain and South America everything's okay. The name DJ BoBo is more powerful than the meaning "idiot" there. In Japan it's "vagina", but there are a few problems with it.

You chose your pseudonym not to know the translation, didn't you?
No, I didn't. When I was choosing "BoBo" as a DJ pseudonym, I didn't think about a career. First three singles failed as well. I paid my attention at other meanings of "BoBo" only after the single "Somebody Dance With Me" when foreign firms sent me refusals.

Do you take care of your health?
I don't smoke, don't drink alcohol and I go in for sports. I believe my health is okay.

Have you ever tested yourself on AIDS?
Yes, I have.

Have you ever thought about suicide, actually about a reason of the suicide?
I don't think about it. There's no reason to kill myself.

What is the absolute catastrophe for you?
The third world war is.

Is there any profit that you are the celebrity?
People respect me.

When did you lie last time?
I lie all the time (even it is lies). And now about serious things. I as the Swiss don't lie. But at the beginning of my career I lied only once. I was told "Somebody Dance With Me" is the hit of the 80's "Somebody's Watching Me". I predicated that the both songs aren't connected with each other. Of course, the refrain was stolen.

What is the biggest madness in your life?
I planned a concert for 150 thousands of visitors in Tirana, the capital of Albania. We wanted to thank to all Albans for the acceptation during the war. When we arrived to the airport of Tirana, there was a big crowd. Our arrival even was shown on TV as well as our concert. It was a real madness!

What is your style of clothes?
It's very casual and light. I dress in "under 30" style with a big pleasure.

Who defines what will you wear?
Actually nobody does, because I wear what I like. But Nancy defines it when I'm on stage. She and Dani design costumes.

Do you wear elegant clothes?
Only when it's necessary.

Is there something that you never wear?
I can't wear ties. I just find they don't suit me.

Do you spend a lot of money for clothes?
Actually, I don't. Only in a case when I'm in London or in New York. Then I buy clothes with a big pleasure.

What is the size of your shoes?
The size of my shoes is 40.

Do you go out with Nancy time of the time?
No, I don't. I can't visit any parties, exhibitions and premieres. I'm never seen at such measures. I don't feel okay among the public.

Are you "one-night lover"?
I felt such thing as love with my ex-wife Daniela. She was German, but you can stay as a foreigner only for 3 months in Switzerland. Then I had only to merry her. But my first night was so called "one-night lover". I was 15 and she was 18. I met her at the discotheque, where she worked as a barwoman. After her work she picked me up to her home and we slept together. But, actually, Capricorns aren't created for "one night". I never went to bed with a girl only for sex.

What women attract you?
As every person I pay my attention at the appearance first. And I absolutely don't care whether she's blond or something. But the appearance is the first thing your attention is paid at. I don't like boring girls. My girlfriend should be cheerful, real. Independence and confidence are very important for me. I like girls with the sense of humor. I can't say I like the woman because she has beautiful eyes or a perfect figure. The inner beauty is more important.

Should the woman of your dream have a beautiful voice?
Yes. It should be very beautiful. Nancy has it.

How did you actually get acquainted with Nancy?
It was on November 1993. We were at the Mega Dance Festival. Nancy was the back-vocalist and the dancer of Haddaway. I liked her very much. Few days later I got acquainted with her. But we were together only in a year. Because Nancy had a boyfriend at that time and I was still married. The love developed slowly between us. And now I believe it was a destiny if we met.

Are your fans jealous of Nancy?
No, they aren't. We told them we were together. Everybody was glad for us. Anyone of our fans didn't say any bad words.

Are you superstitious?
I'm not at all! I don't believe that black cats are the reason of a trouble. I believe in horoscope. Nancy is Sagittarius: she's resolute, fast and she knows what she wants. And I'm a typical Capricorn. I slowly and carefully consider everything.

Do your tours irritate you?
No, they don't. I find my tours are very interesting. I can see foreign countries and different kind of thinking. But in spite of it I spend my holidays at home with a big pleasure.

How do you spend your days off at home?
First I sleep till the second half of the day. Then I have a breakfast, go in for sports, write lyrics and watch movies.

Who packs your bags when you leave on tour?
Once Nancy does. Once I pack them myself.

How much does it takes you to stand in front of the mirror at the morning?
It's not so long. It takes me from 20 to 30 minutes to spend my time in the bathroom.

Is there a lack of anything in your bag?
Sometimes there's a lack of some clothes. But I've never forgotten any necessary things yet, because the care of my body is very important for me.

Can you imagine yourself doing something else (not music)?
Never! Even if my music isn't successful any more, I will go on. Probably, my style will be changed for a while.

What did you want to be when you were small?
I wanted to be a pilot or an engine driver.

Are you afraid of anything?
Of course, I am. I'm afraid of a dentist and injections.

Did you have bad experience in sport?
Yes, I did. This was swimming in school. I agree I swim not so right. But I'm afraid of it. I was good in school competitions. I was super, 'cause we played football. The only subjects I was good in were writing, music and gymnastics.

Is there any kind of sport you won't go in for?
It's jumps. I'm really afraid of it. Sport is the thing, which connected with an entertainment that isn't dangerous for life. That's why I won't go in for such kinds of sports, which are dangerous. And I'll never take part in car races or fly on the gliders.

Are you interested in politics?
I have no time for that. But I watch the news and read newspapers regularly. Thus I know what is going on in the world.

Do you believe in God?
Sometimes - too often - I believe in kindness in people, that every person from the very beginning has only positive qualities in himself. The negative qualities are created by the context and bringing up. I don't believe in God directly. I don't go to church. When I was small I imagined the God as a man with a white beard. He was dressed in nightshirt and he looked like hippie.

Do you consider yourself a good person?
I'm naive and kind. My first single failed, but it happens with everyone. I was mistaken, because I believe in good people. But if I'm naive with my shows it can be dangerous.

Can you fall in love with your fan?
As I've already happily fallen in love, I can't imagine myself in love with a fan.

Did you want to be a professional football player?
Of course, I did. Every young man wants it. When I was small, football was everything for me. Once I even was a captain of a team. But the career of a professional was only my wonderful dream.

Who helps you when you feel bad?
Nancy and my mother do. They are people who I love so much.

You grew up without your father. Does this fact have an influence on your life?
It made me ambitious. I've always been a captain of a football team. Now I'm a boss of my crew and I'm responsible for them. They are my family and I must take care of it. That's why I must go on for them to have a perspective.

Is money important for you?
No. I pay only my account with it.

Will you think whether to jump or not into a cold lake if a child's drowning?
Yes, of course, certainly! And who wouldn't do it, except the villain?

Have you ever beaten a child?
No, I haven't. I'll never do it.

What is your idea of a sin?
Sometimes I sin when I eat. Then I get two or three unnecessary kilos.

Can you love your enemies?
Actually, I don't know any enemies. But if you mean critics the word "love" is exaggeration. But anyway I can live with them without any problems.

Do you think you have a special sense of life?
If you live as you want and respect the others, as you want them to respect you. I live and I believe my life has a sense.

Can you imagine yourself in a prison?
Once I watched the movie where unguilty one had to be imprisoned. It can happen with everyone. But in normal circumstance I hardly believe it.

Do you agree with the capital punishment?
It's not so easy to say yes or no.

Who is your best friend?
My best friend is Oliver Imfeld. Nowadays he's my manager as well. We got acquainted when we were 15 or 16. Oliver and I were the real rivals, 'cause we both were break-dance fans. Both of us wanted to be the best. After two weeks we didn't want to go home. We wanted to stay for some days, but we were out of money. Then we repaired the tape-recorder and went to the street to start the break-dance show. Since that time we've become the best friends. Of course, we even didn't dream that this moment will become the beginning of our joint work.

What is your attitude to the Internet?
I love Internet!

Who is your standard?
I have a lot of them... Phil Collins.

Are your fans important for you?
The are very very very very important! After each concert I sign my autographs till the late night!

Can you play some musical instrument?
I can play the keyboard and the drums!

How long does it takes you to learn the choreography?
Approximately three months before the tour.

Do you read books with a pleasure?
No, I don't. I'm not patient for that.

Do you want to be an actor?
Certainly, no!

What do you wish the most?
Absolutely nothing. I have everything!

How do you call Nancy?
My sweet.

How do you estimate your international success? Where are you most popular?
At the international level, it looks like this: Eastern Europe is a very good territory for us. Poland, Czech, Hungary, up to Alma-Ata, up to Kazakhstan, where we have a very huge success in the musical plan. Then Southern America and Australia follows. Actually, we are popular all over the world, except for England and Northern America.
